Mohawk Industries' stock soared 5.03% in after-hours trading following the release of its first-quarter financial results. The flooring manufacturer reported better-than-expected earnings, driven by significant net income growth and strategic price increases.

The company posted adjusted earnings of $1.90 per diluted share for Q1 2026, beating the FactSet analyst consensus estimate of $1.81. Net earnings surged 60.9% year-over-year to $117 million. Net sales rose 8% to $2.73 billion, though this slightly missed analyst expectations of $2.74 billion.

Management attributed the strong performance to benefits from productivity improvements, restructuring actions, and favorable product mix, which helped offset inflationary pressures. The company also announced it is implementing price increases across many product categories and geographies, citing rising energy costs due to the Middle East conflict. CEO Jeff Lorberbaum stated that further price increases might be required, though higher gasoline prices are causing consumers to adopt a more cautious outlook.
