Tencent Games has unveiled its "2026 Summer Minors Protection Initiative," imposing stricter playtime restrictions for underage users during the holiday period.
According to the new "Summer Minors Game Access Calendar," minors are only permitted to play games between 8 PM and 9 PM on dates marked in green, with a total weekly cap of no more than three hours.
The company is also enhancing its "AI Dual-Engine Anti-Addiction" system. Outside of games, the "Growth Guardian" platform will integrate Tencent's Hunyuan and DeepSeek AI models, allowing parents to perform information queries and account management through conversational interfaces, thereby improving management convenience.
Within games, the health system will introduce an AI patrol function. This feature dynamically assesses risk levels based on player behavior and, in addition to existing facial recognition, incorporates new multi-modal verification methods such as voiceprint detection and age estimation.
This comprehensive approach aims to enable intervention across the entire user journey and raise the barriers for identity fraud and account sharing attempts.
