During the recently concluded National Day holiday, Pengshan's culture and tourism market continued to heat up with outstanding performance.
The two core attractions, the Jiangkou Chenyin Museum and the Pengzu Mountain Scenic Area, drew huge crowds, while hotels and restaurants enjoyed brisk business. Multiple data points hit new highs, painting a vibrant holiday picture of "cultural museum exploration plus wellness leisure" across Pengshan.
Museum Tickets Sold Out Consecutively, New Cultural Consumption Scenarios Win Over Countless Fans
At around 9 a.m. on October 2, reporters at the entrance of the Jiangkou Chenyin Museum saw long queues of visitors waiting to enter, with the line winding all the way to the outer edge of the plaza. It is understood that during the National Day holiday from October 2 to 5, tickets for the Jiangkou Chenyin Museum sold out by the morning for four consecutive days, making it a major highlight of cultural museum tourism across the province.
Inside the museum, activities such as the "Mountains and Rivers Celebrate Together" blessing card giveaway, National Day-themed scratch cards, and the "Jiangkou Treasure Hunt Plan 2.0 — National Day Mega Launch" attracted large numbers of visitors. In the first-floor lobby, the flash mob event "Reciting Splendid Verses at Chenyin, Singing for Home and Country at Jiangkou" took place as scheduled, with a choir and dancers leading the audience in singing "My People, My Country," as many visitors waved small red flags in a lively atmosphere.
"I never expected a museum could be this fun! My child learned history while hunting for treasures, and the adults gained knowledge too," said Ms. Li, a visitor from Chengdu, excitedly holding the blessing card she had just received.
A person in charge of the museum introduced that during the holiday, the museum received 54,000 visitors and generated revenue of 2.39 million yuan. As a representative of the province's new cultural consumption scenarios, "Jiangkou Chenyin" is bringing cultural relics to life and heating up consumption through immersive and interactive cultural experiences.
Pengzu Mountain's "Ticket Stub Economy" Proves Effective, Wellness Garden Party Brings Joy Across the Mountain
Meanwhile, the Pengzu Mountain Scenic Area was equally bustling. During the National Day period, the scenic area partnered with Chacha Food to launch the "Crack Out the Longevity Feeling" Five Elements-themed immersive garden party, which continued to draw enthusiastic crowds.
At Pengzu Square, long lines formed in front of the "Guess the Weight of Sunflower Seeds" booth, where visitors grabbed handfuls of seeds and guessed their weight, with those who guessed correctly cheering in delight. At the forest camp, parent-child sunflower seed relay races brought constant laughter. Inside the Dietary Arts Hall, a sunflower seed art challenge attracted many families to participate.
"Show your high-speed rail ticket stub and get 10% off admission, plus discounts on dining and the slide car — what a great deal!" said Mr. Zhang, a visitor who had just arrived from Pengshan North Station. He had made a special trip with his family to climb Pengzu Mountain and pray for blessings, and the ticket stub economy saved him quite a bit of money.
Activities such as reciting the "Ode to Longevity" for free entry to the immortal mountain and wearing traditional clothing for free first-gate admission also attracted many visitors. The NPC parade flash mob featuring "Peng Xiansen" and "Qiabao" became a popular photo spot that visitors rushed to take pictures with.
Hotels Fully Booked, Restaurant Table Turnover Rates Soar
The booming tourism market directly drove accommodation and dining consumption in Pengshan. Reporters visited multiple hotels in the Pengshan urban area and learned that Atour, Ji Hotel, and James Joyce Coffetel all achieved occupancy rates above 92% during the National Day holiday, with some hotels fully booked a week in advance.
"We were fully booked for the first three days of the holiday. Many visitors came specifically for the Jiangkou Chenyin Museum and Pengzu Mountain," said the manager of Ji Hotel Pengshan, adding that the hotel also offered a 10% discount off the rack rate for visitors holding ticket stubs.
On the dining front, specialty restaurants in the Pengshan urban area enjoyed brisk business, with Pengshan Piaotang restaurants and time-honored snack shops having no tables to spare, and long lines forming outside sweet-skinned duck shops.
"We turned over tables several times at noon. The whole family pitched in and still couldn't keep up," said the owner of a Piaotang restaurant in the urban area while greeting customers.
A person in charge of the Pengshan District culture and tourism department stated that during this year's National Day holiday, Pengshan centered on the Jiangkou Chenyin Museum's new cultural consumption scenarios and the Pengzu Mountain wellness garden party, effectively activating the holiday culture and tourism consumption market through multi-format collaboration of "cultural museum plus wellness plus ticket stub economy." Next, the district will continue to deeply explore cultural resources, enrich the supply of culture and tourism products, and promote the transformation of "traffic" into "staying power," making Pengshan a culture and tourism destination that more visitors aspire to visit.
