Shares of XPeng Inc. (XPEV.US) rose more than 3% on Monday, trading at $13.52.
The positive movement follows a weekend of high customer interest for the company's new vehicle. XPeng's Chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, stated on July 6th that the MONA L03's debut in China had generated record-breaking showroom traffic for the year over the weekend.
He also announced that test drives for the MONA L03 would become available at dealerships across the country starting from July 10th. He emphasized that the vehicle's chassis handling, material quality, and safety standards were developed to compete with models priced around 300,000 yuan, and that pre-sale versions come equipped with advanced intelligent driving assistance systems.
Recent company data shows XPeng delivered 40,126 vehicles in June, marking a 15.9% year-over-year increase. For the second quarter, cumulative deliveries reached 103,295 units.
Additionally, the 10,000th GX7 vehicle rolled off the production line on July 1st, and global deliveries of the X9 model have surpassed 60,000 units. The MONA L03, the first SUV in the MONA series, had its Chinese debut and began pre-sales on July 2nd.
