Laureate Education Inc. (LAUR) stock surged 5.10% during intraday trading on Thursday, driven by a robust second-quarter earnings report that exceeded analyst expectations and an upbeat full-year outlook.
The company reported Q2 revenue of $615.9 million, up 17% year-over-year and above the consensus estimate of $604.3 million. Net income rose 41% to $137.1 million, while adjusted EBITDA climbed to $250.6 million, beating forecasts. The strong performance was fueled by a 10% increase in new enrollments and 6% growth in total enrollments, with gains in both Mexico and Peru, alongside a new campus launch and expansion of digital capabilities.
Laureate also raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $1.92–$1.93 billion and lifted its adjusted EBITDA outlook to $593–$599 million. Additionally, the board approved a $150 million increase to its share repurchase authorization, further boosting investor confidence.
