Where to start
To comprehensively advance the long-term management system for work-related injury prevention in Jinan's machinery manufacturing industry, and to effectively mitigate the risk of workplace accidents at their source, a strategic shift from "post-incident compensation" to "pre-incident prevention" is underway. On August 6, the "Spring City Prevention, City Safety – Jinan 2026 Machinery Manufacturing Industry Work-Related Injury Prevention Publicity and Training Activity" was officially launched in the High-tech Zone. This event was jointly hosted by the Jinan Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Municipal Emergency Management Bureau, the High-tech Zone Social Affairs Department, and the High-tech Zone Emergency Safety Department. It was organized by Hunan Yuantai Hongtong Safety Technology Co., Ltd. Safety managers and occupational health leaders from over 50 key machinery manufacturing enterprises in the High-tech Zone gathered together to embark on an immersive safety learning journey.
Building a united front for safety thought
"Safety production and work-related injury prevention share the same goals and complementary measures. Doing a good job in injury prevention training essentially reduces the occurrence of production safety accidents at the source. We hope everyone will deepen their roles, apply what they learn, and let safety concepts take root in their positions, safety skills land on the front line, and safety management be implemented effectively, continuously consolidating the stable and improving trend of safety in the machinery manufacturing industry," said a relevant official from the High-tech Zone Emergency Safety Department at the start of the event. A relevant official from the Jinan Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau's Work-Related Injury Insurance Division, based on the industry's actual situation, elaborated on the significance of this training: "As a pillar industry in our city, machinery manufacturing has a large workforce, extensive operational risk points, and relatively concentrated injury hazards. It is a key area for the city's injury prevention and occupational health control. Doing a good job in injury prevention is an important measure to protect the life and health of employees, improve people's well-being, and diversify enterprise employment risks. All enterprises must strictly control the implementation quality to ensure precise and effective training, enabling participants to understand, learn, and apply the knowledge." These sincere remarks directly addressed the pain points of enterprise safety management, resonating deeply with the participants. The special training session on injury prevention for the machinery manufacturing industry officially commenced, instantly igniting a wave of safety learning.
Interactive pledges to strengthen responsibility
Moving away from monotonous one-way lectures, this event innovatively adopted a format of fun interactions combined with collective pledges, making safety responsibilities deeply resonate and creating a strong sense of on-site participation and atmosphere. "What do you do first when an employee refuses to wear protective gear because it's troublesome?" "What are the most common habitual violations that are hardest to rectify among frontline workers, and what tips do you have?" The event started with a "Work-Related Injury Prevention Gift Pack" quiz session, combining on-the-spot answering and random selection, with all questions based on real work scenarios. After the down-to-earth questions were posed, the participants eagerly raised their hands to answer. Five participants answered on-site, sharing their solid production safety experience and receiving "customized injury prevention gift packs." "These are problems we often encounter. Today, discussing solution tips with peers is far more effective than just studying documents alone. I learned a lot of practical safety management skills!" said one safety officer who participated in the quiz. Following the fun quiz, a solemn collective pledge ceremony was held. All participants stood up, facing the injury prevention commitment wall, raised their right fists, and chanted in unison: "Injury prevention, I promise, I take responsibility! Lead by example in following regulations, inspect without blind spots! Never neglect protection, never skip training! Zero tolerance for accidents, I take responsibility for safety!" "Every pledge is a heavy responsibility," said a participant. "As enterprise safety managers, we are the first line of defense for workshop safety. From now on, we will lead by example, strictly adhere to safety regulations, do a good job in overall safety control for all employees, protect workers' safety, and safeguard enterprise development." The immersive interactive experience transformed safety awareness from passive reception to active commitment, laying a solid foundation for subsequent practical training.
Practical training to master skills
Theory empowers the foundation, while practical training builds real skills. After the launch ceremony, a full day of intensive thematic training and practical teaching began. The program progressed step by step through theoretical explanations, case analyses, practical drills, and final assessments, allowing participants to comprehensively enhance their safety skills. "Injury prevention is the core measure to protect the life and health of workers, and it concerns enterprise development and family happiness. Only by grasping details and persisting over time can we fundamentally reduce accident risks," an expert on the new professional standard for injury prevention consulting explained in the morning, focusing on the topic "Towards Precision Prevention: The Path of Integrating Injury Prevention, Supervision, and Professionalization." The session detailed laws, regulations, rules, and documents related to safety production, injury prevention, and occupational health in the machinery manufacturing industry. The afternoon training was more practical and frontline-oriented. Wang Jing, an injury prevention expert from Shandong Province and Director of the Occupational Health Institute of the Jinan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, taught on the topic "Occupational Health Management Knowledge and Knowledge on the Prevention of Occupational Disease Hazards," focusing on protective measures against occupational disease hazards in the machinery manufacturing industry and emergency rescue for occupational disease accidents. Subsequently, Dai Junjie, Project Manager of Hunan Yuantai Hongtong Safety Technology Co., Ltd., taught on the topic "How to Guide Employees to Identify Hazards and Occupational Hazard Factors," analyzing accident risks and typical cases in the machinery manufacturing industry. After the lectures, practical training sessions began, using a full set of training equipment including a mechanical injury five-in-one simulator, a CPR mannequin, an AED device, high-altitude protection gear, and special operation protective equipment. Participants were guided through practical drills on mechanical injury protection, emergency first aid, high-altitude and wading operation protection, and wearing special operation gear. "Knowledge gained from books is shallow after all; only personal practice can truly master emergency skills. In the future, when encountering unexpected incidents, we will have the ability to provide scientific rescue and respond calmly!" said a participant who had just completed a CPR drill. At the end of the training, all participants took a final exam to reinforce learning through assessment and verify the training outcomes, ensuring everyone achieved mastery and could apply their knowledge. Safety is no trivial matter; responsibility is greater than Heaven. Going forward, the Jinan Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau will regularly conduct categorized, precise, and scenario-based safety training for different industries, continuously improve the long-term injury prevention management system, and cultivate more safety "experts" and "guardians" for enterprises, building a solid safety barrier for the high-quality development of Jinan's manufacturing industry.
