As of the end of 2025, Inner Mongolia has 84,800 sports venues covering a total area of 73.07 million square meters, averaging 3.08 square meters per capita. The data was collected by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Sports Bureau in accordance with the national sports venue statistical survey system and related official notices.
In terms of basic sports facilities, the region has 3,548 track and field venues spanning 27.48 million square meters, and 331 swimming venues covering 335,600 square meters. For ball sports, there are 49,600 venues occupying 30.21 million square meters, including 26,600 dedicated to football, basketball, and volleyball. Additionally, Inner Mongolia features 148 ice and snow sports venues with a total area of 4.48 million square meters.
Fitness facilities include 23,500 public fitness stations covering 1.29 million square meters, 2,635 gyms spanning 956,400 square meters, and 1,354 fitness trails extending 3,657.78 kilometers and covering 11.35 million square meters.
This year, Inner Mongolia plans to enhance its public fitness service system by better meeting diverse exercise needs, improving sports infrastructure, organizing public sports events, and providing scientific fitness guidance. The region will also seek state funding to develop 300 compact, well-designed fitness sites in urban areas and promote free or low-cost access to public sports venues and those owned by administrative institutions.
