The surge came after the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite jumped 2.59% overnight, with chip stocks leading the charge and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index surging 6.6%. The positive sentiment spilled over into the Australian market, pushing the local technology sub-index up as much as 2.2% to its highest level since June 10.
WiseTech Global was among the standout performers, with the logistics software company benefiting from the renewed investor appetite for technology names following the strong US lead.
