OUE Healthcare Limited announced the official opening of its flagship Shenzhen China Merchants-Lippo Prince Bay Hospital on Jul, 24 2026, marking a major step in the group’s expansion in the Greater Bay Area.
The new international hospital, operated through the joint venture China Merchants Lippo Hospital Management (Shenzhen) Limited, spans about 42,000 square metres and offers more than 230 beds. It is situated in Shenzhen’s Shekou district, with access by air, road, rail and sea to serve patients from the Greater Bay Area as well as Southeast Asia.
Built on a “4P” model—Predictive, Preventive, Personalised and Participatory—Prince Bay Hospital houses three specialist centres (International Medical, Minimally Invasive Surgery and Health Management) and six core clinical specialties, including pain management, rehabilitation, gynaecology, traditional Chinese medicine, gastroenterology and respiratory medicine.
The facility supports China’s national medical insurance system (Yibao) and major commercial insurers and third-party administrators such as U CARE, Bupa Group and Cigna & CMB, improving payment accessibility for patients.
Partnerships have been established with the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, Guangzhou First People's Hospital and the Chinese University of Hong Kong to enhance clinical services, governance and hospital operations.
Chairman Lee Yi Shyan described the opening as “an important milestone” in OUE Healthcare’s plan to build a regional ecosystem anchored on Singapore’s medical expertise. Chief Executive Officer Yet Kum Meng highlighted the hospital’s focus on minimally invasive procedures aimed at reducing recovery times and improving patient outcomes.
The company said it will seek additional collaborations with healthcare and academic institutions to further drive innovation and service quality in the region.
