April 15 marks the 11th National Security Education Day, with this year's theme focusing on balancing development and security to safeguard the new journey of the '15th Five-Year Plan'. Centered around this theme, various departments across Qinghai have carried out a series of activities to promote national security awareness in the Three-River-Source region. Through a combination of online and offline methods, these efforts aim to advance publicity and education, strengthening the public's role in national security defense. Qinghai, often referred to as the 'Source of Three Rivers' and 'China’s Water Tower', serves as a critical ecological security barrier for the country. Protecting the ecological security baseline of the Three-River-Source area is not only vital for maintaining regional ecological balance but also a key component of safeguarding national security as a whole. Widespread and diverse publicity and educational activities help embed the concept of holistic national security into public consciousness and reinforce awareness across society. From April 9 to 10, the Qinghai Provincial and Xining Municipal Offices of the National Security People’s Defense Construction Leading Group jointly organized a viewing activity for national security education. Attendees included representatives from key provincial and municipal units, as well as teachers, students, and staff from schools and universities in Xining, totaling over 2,000 participants. They watched an original situational drama titled "The Silent Line of Defense", performed by students from Qinghai University, Qinghai Normal University, and Qinghai Vocational and Technical University. The play, based on real cases, highlights the严峻 challenges in covert operations, using realistic plots and vivid performances to deliver immersive education and strengthen public awareness of national security, avoiding empty lecturing. On April 10, the series of activities under the theme "Balancing Development and Security, Safeguarding the New Journey of the '15th Five-Year Plan'" were launched across Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Zhongda Township in Yushu City, which served as an actual filming location for the TV series "Tree of Life", hosted promotional staff who educated local ecological rangers on national ecological and resource security. In Zaduo Town, Chenduo County, Yushu Prefecture, a horseback propaganda team used the grasslands as their platform, delivering talks focused on the key messages of National Security Education Day. By discussing typical cases of grassland fire prevention and ecological protection, they explained legal principles, interacted with local residents, and fostered a strong atmosphere of collective responsibility for national security, further reinforcing the ecological security barrier of the Three-River-Source region. During the National Security Education Day period, Qinghai will also carry out the 'Eight Entries' campaign—bringing national security education into government agencies, villages, communities, campuses, enterprises, and online platforms—to ensure that publicity is effective, in-depth, and creates a strong participatory environment.
