CIMC Shares Surge Over 9% in Afternoon Trading as Huatai Securities Reiterates Buy Rating

China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd. (CIMC) (02039) saw its shares rise nearly 10% during the afternoon session. At the time of writing, the stock had increased by 9.39%, trading at HKD 11.77 with a turnover of HKD 124 million.

The company's first-quarter performance showed revenue of RMB 32.66 billion, with net profit attributable to shareholders reaching RMB 209 million. Notably, the gross profit margin for its offshore engineering business reached 14.83% in 2025, representing an improvement of 5.72 percentage points compared to 2024. In the first quarter of 2026, the company secured new offshore engineering orders worth USD 750 million, a substantial increase from the USD 60 million recorded in the same period of 2025.

Huatai Securities issued a research report stating that given the upward trend in deep-sea oil and gas development, CIMC's offshore engineering business is expected to benefit significantly. Concurrently, with the continuous release of global demand for computing infrastructure, the company's strategic layout in modular data centers is poised to yield results. Both the offshore engineering and AIDC businesses are anticipated to contribute steadily to future performance growth. The Buy rating was maintained for both the A-share and H-share listings.
