A major Argentine renewable energy producer, Genneia (GENN.US), filed documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last Thursday, aiming to raise up to $100 million through an initial public offering (IPO). This move positions it to become the first Argentine company to list in the United States since 2019.

The company plans a dual listing on the New York Stock Exchange and the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (BYMA) under the ticker symbol "GENN".

Genneia is a leading renewable energy firm in Argentina, operating the country's largest portfolio of utility-scale wind and solar projects, complemented by strategically located thermal power generation capacity for grid stability.

As of April 2026, the company owns and operates a total installed capacity of 2,128 megawatts, representing approximately 23% of Argentina's combined wind and solar capacity.

The core of its business model involves developing, constructing, and operating power generation assets under long-term U.S. dollar-denominated power purchase agreements.

Beyond its core generation activities, Genneia recently expanded its presence in the electricity value chain by acquiring a 13.2% indirect stake in Transener, a major Argentine high-voltage electricity transmission company.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the company generated revenue of $377 million for the twelve months ended March 31, 2026.

Genneia had confidentially submitted its filing on October 6, 2025. The joint bookrunners for the transaction are Morgan Stanley, BTG Pactual, BofA Securities, J.P. Morgan, and Latin Securities.
