The China International Fair for Trade in Services, an internationally recognized event approved by the State Council and co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, with support from organizations including the WTO, UNCTAD, and OECD, will be held from September 9 to 13, 2026, at the Shougang Park in Beijing.

The year 2026 marks a pivotal turning point for physical AI and embodied intelligence as these fields enter a critical phase driven by both technological scaling and commercial deployment. Artificial intelligence is undergoing a profound shift from cloud-based perception to action within the physical world, with embodied intelligence emerging as a new paradigm that integrates AI with physical robots. This evolution has become a central focus for cultivating new productive forces and gaining a competitive edge in future industries. Having been listed for two consecutive years in the national government work report as a key future industry to be nurtured, the sector now benefits from a powerful convergence of policy, capital, technology, and application scenarios, positioning it at a critical window for transitioning from laboratory research to large-scale implementation.

While generative large models and world models are propelling robots from isolated capabilities toward general intelligence, the industry still confronts significant hurdles in achieving widespread adoption. These challenges include the limited understanding of the physical world by general-purpose large models, a scarcity of high-quality embodied data, discrepancies in simulation-to-reality transfer, conflicts between standardization and local adaptation, and the need to establish closed-loop commercial scenarios. Against this backdrop, the Physical AI and Embodied Intelligence Robotics Innovation Ecosystem Exchange Conference will be held in Beijing on September 11, 2026, as a special session of the CIFTIS. With the theme "Embodied Everything, Intelligent Interaction, Ecosystem Co-construction," the conference will bring together renowned scholars, executives from leading enterprises, and industry chain representatives to explore technology breakthroughs driven by data, commercialization pathways, and collaborative industrial ecosystems. The goal is to advance physical AI and embodied intelligence robots from technological showcases to essential industry requirements while building a self-reliant and controllable innovation ecosystem.
