Shares of JBS NV (JBS) plummeted 5.02% intraday on Monday, following the company's announcement of a planned leadership transition.

The stock dropped after the company named Wesley Batista Filho as its new Global CEO, effective January 2027, replacing Gilberto Tomazoni. News of the CEO change first emerged in media reports earlier in the session, prompting a trading halt for JBS. After the official press release was issued, the stock declined sharply.

Tomazoni, who has led JBS for eight years through a period of significant growth and transformation, will become Vice Chairman of the Board and Senior Advisor. The market appeared to react negatively to the departure of the seasoned executive, despite the incoming CEO's long tenure within the company and his family's deep ties to the business.
