Prudential plc has reported adjustments to its share capital following recent buyback and share-scheme transactions.
The insurer cancelled 377,608 ordinary shares repurchased on Mar, 23 2026 (cancelled on Mar, 25 2026) and allotted 2,442 new shares on Mar, 25 2026 after employees exercised options granted under the Prudential Sharesave Plan 2023. As a result, the company’s issued share capital (excluding treasury shares) stood at 2,529,208,274 shares on Mar, 25 2026, down from 2,529,583,440 shares on Mar, 24 2026.
Separately, Prudential plc bought back 353,237 shares on Mar, 25 2026 on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging between 10.835 and 10.985 per share, spending a total of about 3.85 million. These shares are intended for cancellation. Including this purchase, the company has repurchased 77,955,307 shares under the mandate approved on May, 14 2025, representing 2.993 percent of the share count on that mandate date.
The current authorisation allows Prudential plc to repurchase up to 262,668,701 shares. The moratorium on new share issues following the latest buyback runs until Apr, 24 2026.
