Shares of Braveheart Bio Inc. (BRVE) soared 67.78% during intraday trading on Thursday, marking a stellar debut on the Nasdaq Global Market.
The surge comes after the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company priced its upsized initial public offering at $18 per share, the high end of its marketing range. The company sold approximately 21.3 million shares, raising $382.5 million in gross proceeds, after increasing the deal size from 18.75 million shares and pricing above the initial $15 to $17 range. The strong investor demand for the offering fueled the significant first-day pop.
Braveheart Bio is focused on developing therapies for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and other serious cardiovascular diseases. The company intends to use the IPO proceeds to advance the development of its lead product candidate, BHB‑1893.
