ZTE shares surged 5.02% during intraday trading on Wednesday, reflecting strong investor appetite amid a broader rally in the 6G AI-RAN ecosystem and mounting optimism ahead of the company's upcoming interim results.
The upward move was fueled by sector-wide strength, with peers such as ZJ Innolight, CIG, and YOFC also posting significant gains. The rally has been further supported by positioning from major institutions, as Citigroup recently raised its H-share long position to 5.13% and UBS Group increased its stake to 8.48% in late July, signaling foreign confidence in ZTE's medium-to-long-term prospects. Additionally, the company's board is set to convene on August 21 to review and approve interim results for the six months ending June 30, creating anticipation for the earnings release. A recent A-share repurchase of 4.1 million shares at RMB 35.31 per share also contributed to the positive market tone.
