New China Life Insurance Company Ltd. (NCI) announced that its employee representatives have elected Liu Zhanpeng as an employee director for the ninth session of the Board. The appointment will become effective upon confirmation by the relevant regulatory authorities.

Liu Zhanpeng, born in January 1973, is currently Head of the Publicity Department of the Party Committee, General Manager of the Party Building Department, and Director of the Targeted Assistance Office at NCI. From February 2011 to October 2023, he led the Strategy and Development Department and the Strategy Planning Department, following a decade of progressive roles in corporate planning and strategic management from 2001 to 2011. Liu holds a finance degree from Capital University of Economics and Business, awarded in July 1995.

Upon regulatory approval, Liu will sign a director’s service contract covering the remainder of the ninth Board’s term. As an employee director, he will not receive separate board remuneration; instead, compensation will align with his existing employee pay package under NCI’s remuneration management system.

The Board composition remains: Chairman and Executive Director Yang Yucheng; Executive Director Gong Xingfeng; Non-executive Directors Yang Xue, Mao Sixue, Hu Aimin and Zhang Xiaodong; and Independent Non-executive Directors Ma Yiu Tim, Xu Xu, Guo Yongqing and Zhuo Zhi.

NCI confirmed that Liu Zhanpeng holds no shares in the company, has no related-party ties with directors or major shareholders, and has not served on the boards of other listed companies in the past three years. No additional matters require shareholder attention under Hong Kong Listing Rule 13.51(2)(h)-(v).
