Sterling Construction's stock surged 21.63% in post-market trading following the release of its first-quarter financial results.

The infrastructure contractor reported Q1 adjusted earnings of $3.59 per share, significantly beating the analyst consensus estimate of $2.01, representing a 78.61% upside surprise. Revenue for the quarter reached $825.7 million, also well above the expected $603.6 million, with net income jumping 143% year-over-year to $96 million.

Management raised its full-year 2026 guidance, projecting revenue between $3.70 billion and $3.80 billion, up from previous expectations. The strong performance was driven by the recent CEC acquisition, organic growth exceeding 55%, and new awards in data centers, manufacturing, and semiconductor facilities.
