Pinterest has named Amazon executive James Dibbo as its chief financial officer, marking yet another top-level appointment during a year of executive turnover at the social media platform.
Dibbo will officially join Pinterest on October 26. He previously oversaw finance for Amazon's media and retail divisions, most recently serving as vice president and CFO of the global entertainment, advertising, and corporate development unit. His purview covered Prime Video, Twitch, Amazon Music, Amazon Advertising, Amazon MGM Studios, and Audible.
Pinterest's current CFO, Julia Brau Donnelly, announced in August that she would move to Sierra, an AI customer service startup, as its chief financial officer.
Earlier this year, Pinterest had already hired a new chief marketing officer who also came from Amazon, while also appointing a new global head of content and a global head of business.
Pinterest CEO Bill Ready has driven business growth since taking over the company in 2022, but over the past year advertising revenue growth has slowed, compounded by market worries that AI could disrupt the business. The company has launched several "code red" special projects and carried out layoffs.
