Southern Double-Long Samsung Electronics (07747) surged as much as 10% in early trading today, last up 8.04% at HK$81.4 with turnover reaching HK$605 million.

According to reports, Samsung Electronics plans to finalize and unveil a shareholder return program exceeding 100 trillion KRW after its board meeting this month. The company intends to allocate 50% of its free cash flow to shareholder returns, with measures expected to focus primarily on cash dividends. Samsung stated that after announcing the plan, it will continue to evaluate additional shareholder return initiatives based on cash flow and profitability.

Samsung's Q2 revenue reached 171.5 trillion KRW with operating profit of 89.5 trillion KRW, both hitting record highs. With memory prices climbing and sustained demand for AI-related high-value-added chips, the market projects Samsung's annual free cash flow to exceed 200 trillion KRW, with some estimates approaching 250 trillion KRW.
