In a recent media dialogue following the Chinese debut of the XPeng MONA L03, XPeng Inc. Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng, along with the company's Senior Director of Vehicle Product, Yang Guang, and MONA owner and brand ambassador Ouyang Nana, shared insights on the industry's future.
Addressing the transformative impact of AI on the automotive sector, He Xiaopeng remarked that AI is evolving both in the digital and physical realms. He noted that the past decade witnessed the shift from traditional fuel vehicles to new energy vehicles. Back in 2014 and 2015, few believed that new energy vehicles would now account for nearly 60% of monthly new car sales. He predicts that by 2030, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in China will definitively exceed 90%.
Looking ahead to the next decade, He Xiaopeng described the coming automotive revolution as the integration of AI with vehicles, envisioning a future where every car is essentially a robot on four wheels. He stated, "Many people wonder if the automotive transformation is about making cars more beautiful or more affordable. I believe these are not the core directions. The key is how to give a car a soul, how to truly couple the car with robotics, and how to make customers genuinely feel the value of a particular vehicle."
