Excelerate Energy, Inc. (EE) saw its stock price plummet 16.08% during intraday trading on Thursday. The sharp decline followed the company's latest financial forecast.

The LNG company projected its 2026 committed growth capital expenditure to be in the range of $370 million to $400 million, which exceeded analyst expectations. Capital One Securities analysts noted the higher costs were primarily due to increased expenses for the Iraqi infrastructure buildout. According to LSEG data, analysts had been anticipating total capex of approximately $373.01 million for 2026.

Analysts also suggested that profit-taking may have contributed to the sell-off, given that Excelerate Energy's stock had risen approximately 53% so far in 2026 prior to this decline.
