On Jun, 30 2026, Southern Alliance Mining Ltd (QNS) said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Selatan Anjung Minerals Sdn. Bhd., has entered into a six-year memorandum of understanding with the Department of Mineral and Geoscience Malaysia, State of Johor (JMG Johor).
The agreement sets out a framework for cooperation in mineral exploration, geoscience research and related activities within the 7,045-hectare Tenggaroh Exploration Licence area in Mersing, Johor. The term can be extended by mutual consent.
Under the MOU, Southern Alliance Mining will gain access to JMG Johor’s technical expertise and historical geoscience data, which the company expects will enhance exploration planning, target generation and geological interpretation at Tenggaroh. A joint management committee, co-chaired by representatives of both parties, will oversee the collaboration.
The initiative aligns with the company’s strategy to develop a diversified, multi-mineral portfolio in Malaysia. Southern Alliance Mining currently operates the Chaah iron ore mine in Johor and, in Sep, 2025, acquired a 40% stake in MCRE Resources Sdn. Bhd. to enter the rare earth elements sector.
