SBP GROUP's stock surged 5.39% during intraday trading on Wednesday, following the announcement of a major licensing agreement with global pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca.
The company has granted AstraZeneca exclusive rights to develop, manufacture and commercialize its self-developed PDE3/4 inhibitor TQC3721 outside China. Under the agreement, SBP GROUP is eligible to receive a $200 million upfront payment, with potential development, regulatory and sales milestone payments totaling up to $1.9 billion, plus tiered royalties based on annual net sales.
This represents the company's second major licensing deal with a multinational pharmaceutical firm this year and is expected to accelerate the global development of TQC3721 as a potential best-in-class therapy for chronic respiratory diseases.
