Premarket Movers | UMC Rises Over 6% as TSMC Scales Back 28nm Capacity

United Microelectronics rose more than 6% in U.S. pre-market trading Wednesday. People familiar with the matter said TSMC has reduced its 28-nanometer wafer-start capacity by more than 25% since the beginning of the year as part of a node reallocation strategy, prompting some customers to divert their 28nm orders to UMC.
