The 2026 Qingdao Agricultural Product Quality and Safety "Four Skills Training" event concluded on August 14, wrapping up a week-long competition, alongside a specialized training session on premium agricultural product cultivation management. The event brought together 84 technical experts from the city's agricultural safety sector for a skills contest, with over 100 agriculture practitioners participating in the learning sessions, aiming to sharpen professional skills through competition and empower industry growth through training, thereby strengthening the city's food safety defenses.

The competition focused on four core areas: agricultural product quality and safety testing, livestock product quality and safety sampling, veterinary drug quality inspection, and full-process control of agricultural product quality. It was jointly organized by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, and the Municipal Women's Federation, and hosted by the Qingdao Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center. The event gathered frontline supervisors, grassroots monitoring agency experts, and talented individuals from agricultural business entities. A comprehensive evaluation model combining theoretical written exams and practical assessments was used to test participants' professional capabilities. The theoretical exam focused on core content such as agricultural product quality safety laws and regulations, and basic testing theory, while the practical segment covered key business scenarios like vegetable pesticide residue testing, livestock product sampling, and veterinary drug content determination.

After intense competition, the event awarded 12 first prizes, 12 second prizes, and 16 third prizes, setting industry skill benchmarks and further fostering a "learn and compete" atmosphere among workers. The competition content closely mirrored real-world frontline scenarios in agricultural quality safety supervision. A professional judging panel of over 10 industry experts from the China Animal Health and Epidemiology Center and the Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences was invited. They developed more than 50 detailed scoring criteria covering the entire process, including sample processing, experimental operations, and data analysis, implementing a transparent evaluation mechanism with on-site scoring and immediate publication. This comprehensively assessed participants' operational standardization and comprehensive judgment skills. In recent years, Qingdao has continuously deepened the construction of a high-skilled talent team for agricultural product safety, using skill competitions as a key platform and relying on grassroots practical platforms to refine professional teams. Currently, 45 practitioners in the city have won awards in provincial-level agricultural safety skills competitions, with 4 securing first place in provincial events and being awarded the title of "Shandong Province Technical Expert," and over 120 individuals have distinguished themselves in municipal-level events. A group of technical experts trained through these competitions has become the core backbone of the city's agricultural product quality and safety control, providing solid talent support for ensuring the safety of edible agricultural products from the source.

During the concurrent specialized training session on premium agricultural product cultivation management, over 100 staff members from agricultural product safety testing departments across various districts and agricultural business enterprises actively participated in the learning. The training invited renowned domestic experts in agricultural product branding to provide on-site instruction. The curriculum closely aligned with Qingdao's modern agricultural development needs, focusing on key areas such as the cultivation of famous, special, premium, and new agricultural products, the establishment of a full-chain safety control system, and the creation and long-term operation of distinctive agricultural product brands. It combined the latest policy documents with typical practical cases for in-depth explanation, covering both macro-level policy interpretation and practical implementation methods, effectively enhancing the comprehensive professional capabilities of the participants.
