At the 2026 interim results conference held on August 21, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd.'s co-Chief Executive Officer Guo Xiaotao outlined the company's investment framework, introducing a refined approach that now includes six matching principles: duration matching, yield matching, liquidity matching, capital matching, account matching, and regulatory compliance matching. This represents an expansion from the previous five-principle framework, with the addition of account matching as a new component.
Guo explained that the company's liability side has fully transitioned toward participating products. "Our investment strategy doesn't operate in isolation—it's part of an asset-liability matching process," he noted. Since participating products, participating accounts, traditional accounts, and universal accounts have distinct investment requirements, the six matching principles serve as the foundational guideline for the company's approach.
Discussing Ping An's asset allocation strategy, Guo revealed that fixed-income investments account for over 70% of the portfolio, equity assets represent approximately 20%, and alternative assets make up around 7%. "Our investment returns have remained stable, primarily due to our balanced asset allocation across the entire portfolio," Guo stated.
Guo further emphasized that high-dividend stocks serve as the company's solid core holdings, while within the growth segment, he holds a particularly positive outlook on the technology sector. Over the long term, Guo expressed strong confidence in technology, artificial intelligence, high-end manufacturing, innovative pharmaceuticals, and the energy sector.
