Hunan's Construction Machinery Exports to ASEAN Surge 28.7% in First Four Months

Data released by Changsha Customs on May 20 shows that in the first four months of this year, Hunan province's construction machinery exports reached 13.22 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.2%. Exports to ASEAN countries totaled 2.55 billion yuan, growing by 28.7% compared to the same period last year.

The overseas market layout is continuously being optimized, with both traditional and new markets showing strong momentum. The traditional core market remains solid, with ASEAN consistently maintaining its position as Hunan's largest trading partner for construction machinery. Africa has emerged as a new explosive growth pole, with Hunan's construction machinery exports to the continent reaching 1.92 billion yuan, surging by 92.3%. Notably, exports to Uganda, Senegal, and Namibia achieved leapfrog growth, skyrocketing by 87.1 times, 44.1 times, and 37 times year-on-year, respectively.

Local private enterprises have shouldered the role of the main force in Hunan's construction machinery exports, demonstrating robust growth momentum. In the first four months, private enterprises in the province exported 11.81 billion yuan worth of construction machinery, an increase of 42.1%, accounting for 89.3% of the province's total exports.

Major equipment categories are selling well across the board, with specific sub-categories experiencing explosive growth. Exports of various core construction equipment from Hunan have steadily climbed. Exports of crawler excavators reached 2.43 billion yuan, up 42.1% year-on-year, while products such as motorized forklifts, concrete mixer trucks, and pump trucks also maintained steady growth. Specific sub-categories saw rapid expansion: exports of mining drills, self-propelled rock drills, and gantry cranes surged by 338.8%, 324.7%, and 287.5% respectively, highlighting the strong competitiveness of Hunan's construction machinery industry.
