Recent tax invoice data from Hubei Province reveals that from January to June, the province's industrial sales revenue increased by 12.3% year-on-year, accounting for 36.2% of the province's total sales. This represents a rise of 3.5 percentage points compared to the same period last year and contributed 5 percentage points to the overall provincial sales growth rate.

Of particular note, the sales increment from the "Optoelectronics, Integrated Circuits, Displays, Terminals, and Networks" cluster—representing Hubei's strategic high-tech industrial clusters—constituted 51.5% of the entire industrial sales increment. Within this, the "nervous system" and "brain" of the intelligent economy—the optical communication and laser industry, along with integrated circuit design and manufacturing—performed exceptionally well.

In the optical communication and laser sector, Hubei's sales revenue from January to June grew by 31.7% year-on-year. This growth was driven by a 82.7% increase in optical fiber and cable manufacturing, a 22.33% rise in optoelectronic component manufacturing, and a 56.8% surge in optoelectronic material manufacturing.

For the "core" industry focused on integrated circuit design and manufacturing, sales from January to June skyrocketed by 304%. This comprised a 75% growth in integrated circuit design and a remarkable 337% increase in integrated circuit manufacturing.

Examining the number of business entities, the province saw an increase in companies within the "optoelectronics" industry achieving sales exceeding 100 million yuan, rising from 167 in the same period last year to 191 in the first half of this year. Similarly, enterprises in the "core" industry with sales surpassing 10 million yuan grew from 59 to 84.

In May of this year, a group of seven leading companies from the Optics Valley—including Yangtze Memory Technologies Co., Ltd., Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC), Huagong Tech Co., Ltd., Accelink Technologies Co., Ltd., FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co., Ltd., Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., and China Information Communication Technologies Group Corporation (CICT)—gained significant prominence, further polishing the "China Optics Valley" brand as a hub of scientific and technological innovation.

Leveraging its distinctive industrial system of "Optoelectronics, Integrated Circuits, Displays, Terminals, and Networks," Hubei is using the Optics Valley as its innovation nucleus to drive coordinated development along the Optics Valley Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. The province aims for its optoelectronic information industry to reach a scale of 1.13 trillion yuan by 2025, accelerating its advancement towards becoming a world-class industrial cluster. This progress is solidifying the core physical foundation for Hubei to cultivate and expand its intelligent economy and rapidly develop new quality productive forces.

"The first-half tax invoice data fully demonstrates the robust momentum of Hubei's 'optoelectronics' and 'core' industries. The 'Optoelectronics, Integrated Circuits, Displays, Terminals, and Networks' cluster is powerfully driving industrial growth and injecting strong momentum into the development of the intelligent economy," stated a relevant official from the Hubei Provincial Taxation Bureau.

The official added that the tax authorities will closely align with the main theme of high-quality development, focus on the intelligent economy industrial chain, continuously strengthen economic and tax source analysis, precisely implement tax and fee support policies related to the industry, proactively provide tax-related guidance and compliance instructions, and foster the growth of high-quality market entities to help propel the province's intelligent industrial clusters to new heights of agglomeration and advancement.
