Bank of Gansu releases 2025 ESG report; green loan balance climbs 11.13 % to RMB 21.57 billion

Bank of Gansu has published its ninth Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report since listing in 2018, detailing operating results, risk-control progress and sustainability performance for the 12-month period ended 31 December 2025.

Operating highlights • Operating income increased to RMB 5.42 billion, while net profit edged up 1.10 % to RMB 590.90 million. • Total corporate loans rose to RMB 53.02 billion, financing 1,112 market entities across Gansu Province. • Technology loans expanded 59.89 % year-on-year, ending the period at RMB 29.82 billion.

Green finance metrics • Outstanding green loans reached RMB 21.57 billion, a net increase of RMB 2.16 billion and an 11.13 % growth rate. • The portfolio is concentrated in clean energy, energy conservation and ecological protection, supported by a “wind and solar unlimited” product and a newly launched “water conservation loan”. • Green consumer and trade finance balances stood at RMB 2.41 billion and RMB 0.45 billion, respectively.

Inclusive and rural finance • Inclusive micro- and small-enterprise loans totalled RMB 13.87 billion, representing 17.51 % of the Bank’s inclusive loan book. • Agriculture-related loans finished the year at RMB 43.06 billion; 16 county-level characteristic products were introduced under the “One County, One Industry” programme.

Risk management and governance • No material information-security incidents or corruption-related litigation cases were recorded during the year. • A three-line risk-defence system, an upgraded anti-money-laundering framework and a strengthened data-security regime were highlighted in the report. • Board-level oversight now includes regular reviews of climate risks, ESG targets and progress against medium-term emission-reduction goals.

Resource efficiency • Greenhouse-gas emissions fell 27.65 % year-on-year, driven by energy-saving retrofits and digital-office initiatives. • Total energy consumption declined to 19,418.35 MWh, while water usage was 158,500 tonnes.

Digital transformation • The Bank completed a private deployment of the DeepSeek large-language model and launched three AI applications—Compliance Assistant, Smart Data Query and Longyin Zhihui. • Mobile banking version 8.0 was rolled out, and automated customer-operations pilots boosted average daily deposits by RMB 1.50 billion.

Looking ahead The Board states that the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan will focus on the “Five Major Articles” of technology, green, inclusive, pension and digital finance, with targets to lift green-loan balances above RMB 35.00 billion and green bond investments to at least RMB 1.50 billion by 2030.
