Shares of Circle Internet Corp. (CRCL) surged 5.06% in pre-market trading on Wednesday, as investors cheered stronger-than-expected quarterly earnings and a landmark partnership announcement for its Arc blockchain network.

The company reported second-quarter earnings per share of $0.18, topping the FactSet consensus estimate of $0.16. Net income swung to $48 million, a sharp improvement from a year-ago loss, while adjusted EBITDA climbed 8% to $143 million. Although total revenue and reserve income of $701 million slightly missed analyst expectations, the earnings beat and an upbeat business outlook bolstered sentiment.

Adding to the positive momentum, Circle revealed the founding validator cohort for Arc, which includes BlackRock, DTCC, Mastercard, Visa, and Standard Chartered. The partnership with DTCC will enable tokenization of DTC-custodied assets on Arc, with a public mainnet launch scheduled for September 16. The news underscored growing institutional backing for Circle’s onchain finance infrastructure and fueled the pre-market rally.
