Stock Track | Ampol Ltd Plummets 5.02% Intraday as U.S.-Iran Peace Deal Weighs on Oil Prices

Stock Track
Jun 15

Ampol Ltd's stock fell sharply by 5.02% during intraday trading on Monday, reflecting broader weakness in the energy sector.

The decline comes after news of a U.S.-Iran peace deal sent oil prices tumbling to their lowest level since March. Brent crude futures fell to $83.75 a barrel following the announcement, which includes provisions to end the war and resume traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

As a refiner-retailer, Ampol is particularly sensitive to changes in oil prices, with the broader Australian energy sub-index falling to its lowest level in two weeks amid the market reaction to the geopolitical development.
