An editorial has been published in the medical journal NEJM Evidence, providing a favorable assessment of the randomized controlled clinical study for HIGHTIDE-B's (ASX: 02511) core product, HTD1801. This follows the recent publication of the Phase III clinical trial (SYMPHONY-2) results for HTD1801 combined with metformin in treating type 2 diabetes in the same journal.

The editorial, titled "Berberine-Ursodeoxycholate — Bringing Traditional Chinese Medicine to Our World," commended the rigorous design of the HTD1801 study and the accumulating clinical evidence. It highlighted that the research offers a reference for advancing innovative drugs derived from traditional Chinese medicine wisdom onto the global stage through high-quality clinical studies. The publication of these findings and the editorial further demonstrates that the clinical outcomes of HTD1801 are gaining widespread attention and recognition from the international academic community.

Currently, the company is actively advancing the market registration and commercialization efforts for HTD1801. It is in discussions with several potential partners regarding a potential licensing and commercialization collaboration for HTD1801's first approved indication in China. Under such a potential collaboration, the company could receive potential upfront payments, development milestone payments, sales milestone payments, and sales royalties. The company will issue further announcements in due course as developments progress.

HTD1801 is a first-in-class new molecular entity designed to address the unmet clinical needs in cardiorenal metabolic (CKM) system diseases. As a single molecule, HTD1801 is a unique dual-mechanism oral anti-inflammatory and metabolic modulator (AIMM) that exerts its biological activity by activating AMPK and inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome. This complementary dual-mechanism action can effectively address metabolic issues. Multiple global clinical results have validated that HTD1801 can provide patients with comprehensive benefits, including improved insulin sensitivity, glycemic control, lipid reduction, kidney protection, weight loss, liver benefits, and anti-inflammatory effects. Based on this, HTD1801 has the potential to become a foundational therapeutic in the CKM field.
