Imperial Brands Hits Profit Growth Targets, Unveils $2 Billion Share Buyback

Imperial Brands will release its full fiscal 2026 results on November 17.

The tobacco company Imperial Brands said it expects to have met all of its operating targets for the fiscal year ending in September, and announced plans to carry out a GBP 1.5 billion (USD 1.98 billion) share buyback in fiscal 2027.

The London-listed company expects adjusted operating profit growth for fiscal 2026 to fall within its previously guided range of 3% to 5%. It also expects adjusted earnings per share for the year to grow at a high single-digit rate, with free cash flow exceeding GBP 2.2 billion.

Imperial Brands is launching a new round of share buybacks, with all repurchases expected to be completed by October 29, 2027. Over the past six years since fiscal 2021, the company has returned about GBP 13 billion to shareholders through a combination of dividends and share buybacks.

Imperial Brands also said it plans to achieve at least GBP 320 million in cost savings by 2030. The company will officially publish its full fiscal 2026 results on November 17.
