Want Want China Completes 25.19 Million-Share Buyback; Outstanding Shares Steady at 11.79 Billion

Want Want China Holdings Limited disclosed on 11 August 2026 that it repurchased 25.19 million ordinary shares between 29 July and 11 August 2026. All of the repurchased shares are earmarked for cancellation, yet the company’s issued share capital remains unchanged at 11.79 billion shares pending completion of the cancellation process. No treasury shares are currently held.

The buybacks were executed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at volume-weighted average prices ranging from HKD 3.2987 to HKD 3.4983 per share. Based on disclosed averages, the aggregate consideration for the 10 trading sessions is estimated at approximately HKD 85.40 million, equivalent to 0.21% of the company’s existing issued share base.

The most recent transaction, conducted on 11 August, involved 2.23 million shares repurchased within a price band of HKD 3.29–3.34, for a total outlay of HKD 7.40 million.

These purchases form part of the repurchase mandate approved on 26 August 2025, which authorises the company to buy back up to 1.18 billion shares. Cumulative repurchases under this mandate have reached 42.31 million shares, utilising roughly 3.59% of the authorised limit.

Following the latest on-market repurchases, Want Want China is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares or disposing of any treasury shares until 10 September 2026, in accordance with Hong Kong Stock Exchange rules.
