The test schedule is as follows: The spoken English test for Level 4 (CET-SET4) is scheduled for May 23, 2026, and for Level 6 (CET-SET6) on May 24, 2026. The written test (CET) will be held on June 13, 2026, offering Level 4 and Level 6 exams in English, Japanese, German, and Russian, as well as a Level 4 exam in French.
Eligibility for the CET is restricted to full-time undergraduate and junior college students, as well as postgraduate students currently enrolled in regular or adult higher education institutions. Students who have completed the College English Level 4 curriculum may register for the CET-4 written test. Those who have completed the Level 6 curriculum and have achieved a score of 425 or higher on the CET-4 are eligible to register for the CET-6. For candidates registering for the Level 6 exams in Japanese, German, or Russian, there is no requirement for a corresponding Level 4 score in that language.
Registration for the speaking test (CET-SET) requires prior completion of registration for the corresponding level's written test. This means candidates must register for the CET-4 written test before they can register for CET-SET4, and similarly for Level 6. Candidates for the speaking test should, in principle, register at the same test center where they will take the written exam.
The online registration period for students in the province is from 12:00 on Friday, March 20, 2026, to 17:00 on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Candidates should log in to the official national CET registration website within the timeframe specified by their respective universities to complete the registration process, including providing information and making online payments.
To ensure a smooth and efficient registration process, candidates are advised to complete user registration and mobile phone verification on the registration website well in advance. Before registering, candidates should carefully verify their personal information, including photos, to ensure all student record details are accurate. Admission tickets for the speaking test can be printed from the registration system starting at 9:00 on May 19, 2026. Tickets for the written test will be available for printing from 9:00 on June 5, 2026.
In line with promoting green, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly development initiatives and advancing the digital transformation of educational assessments, paper score reports for the CET will no longer be issued starting from the first half of 2026. Within 10 working days after the scores are released, candidates can log in to the China Education Examinations website to view and download an electronic score report. The electronic version will hold the same validity as the former paper report.
