China Power International Development Limited (CHINA POWER) announced that its total electricity sales for January 2026 reached 10.46 million MWh, representing a 4.79% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
According to preliminary statistics, a majority of the sales came from coal-fired power, which rose by 13.44% year-on-year. Hydropower sales declined by 17.77%, while wind power and photovoltaic power saw small yet positive gains of 1.73% and 2.66% respectively. Natural gas power registered a 23.48% jump, and environmental power recorded a 7.42% increase. Together, these wholly-owned or controlled power plants contributed to the total of 10.46 million MWh in electricity sold.
The major associates or joint ventures saw sales grow to 4.40 million MWh, marking a 15.58% increase from January 2025. Coal-fired power in these ventures led the trend with a 15.97% rise, wind power grew by 11.75%, and photovoltaic power declined to 16.08 thousand MWh, reflecting a reduction of 25.91%.
