LivaNova PLC's stock plummeted 6.86% during intraday trading on Wednesday, a sharp reversal following the release of its fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 financial results. The medical technology company reported quarterly earnings and revenue that exceeded analyst expectations but faced investor skepticism over its forward-looking guidance and a significant GAAP loss for the full year.

The company reported fourth-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $0.86, surpassing the consensus estimate of $0.82. Revenue for the quarter reached $360.9 million, also beating expectations of $353.3 million and representing a 12.1% increase year-over-year. However, the full-year 2025 results revealed a U.S. GAAP diluted loss per share of $4.45, heavily impacted by recording a $365.6 million SNIA environmental liability expense.

For 2026, LivaNova issued guidance calling for constant-currency revenue growth between 6.0% and 7.0% and adjusted diluted earnings per share in the range of $4.15 to $4.25. The company stated this outlook is "aligned with the medium-term outlook outlined at our November 2025 Investor Day." Investors appeared to react negatively to what may be perceived as conservative guidance, especially following a quarter where the stock had risen approximately 12.2%, leading to potential profit-taking on the news.
