REVVITY INC (RVTY) shares plummeted 5.01% intraday on Tuesday, extending pre-market losses after the company's second-quarter results revealed a mixed performance. The stock had already fallen 3.7% in pre-market trading following the earnings release.
The company reported Q2 revenue of $730 million, surpassing analyst estimates of $709.1 million, while adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.41, beating the consensus estimate of $1.22. However, the positive headline numbers were overshadowed by weakness in the company's Life Sciences unit, where an executive disclosed that the decline was driven by an approximately 20% drop in the Signal Software business due to contract timing issues.
Despite management expressing optimism for the second half of the year, citing improving demand from biotech customers and a growing number of AI-related orders, as well as more favorable diagnostic trends, investors appeared to focus on the near-term headwinds in the software segment. The company issued full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $2.83 billion to $2.86 billion and adjusted EPS guidance of $5.30 to $5.40.
