South Manganese (01091) has issued a profit alert, indicating that it expects to record a profit attributable to shareholders of no less than HK$350 million for the six months ending 30 June 2026. This anticipated figure marks a substantial increase when compared with the profit attributable to owners of the company of approximately HK$173 million reported for the corresponding period in 2025.
The projected growth in attributable profit is primarily driven by two key factors. Firstly, the group's electrolytic manganese metal (EMM) and alloy materials production segment is expected to deliver a robust operational performance during the first half of 2026, underpinned by higher average selling prices for EMM products relative to the same period in the prior year.
Secondly, the group's manganese ore mining division is also forecast to see improved operational results for the 2026 first half, supported by an increase in the average selling price of Gabonese ore compared with the first half of 2025.
