China's Enterprises Urged to Expand Globally, Says DMALL Founder

The 2026 Annual Meeting of the China Entrepreneurs Forum was held from March 17 to 19 in Yabuli, Heilongjiang Province. Zhang Wenzhong, founder of Wumei Group and DMALL, attended the event and delivered a speech.

Zhang Wenzhong stated that it appears imperative for Chinese companies to expand overseas. He noted that China’s trade surplus reached $1.2 trillion last year, and exports grew by another 20% from January to February this year. If production capacity is not shifted abroad and exports continue to increase substantially, it will be difficult to maintain trade balance.

“If trade balance cannot be maintained at this stage, others may perceive that you are taking advantage,” Zhang said, emphasizing that this indicates Chinese enterprises must go global.
