Shares of AMP Limited surged 5.00% during intraday trading on Friday, following positive news regarding the company's financial performance and analyst sentiment.

The rally was driven by AMP's guidance for its first-half underlying net profit, which is expected to be between A$170 million and A$180 million. This figure represents a significant 25% beat above consensus market expectations. A key contributor to this strong performance is the company's China Partnerships business, which includes China Life Pension Company and is projected to contribute approximately A$56 million in the first half.

In response to the upbeat guidance, analysts at Citi raised their earnings per share forecasts for AMP, increasing FY26 estimates by 13% and FY27 estimates by 7%. Citi maintained its "buy" rating on the stock, noting that while some earnings contributors may be volatile, solid assets under management growth from the China Life Pension Company suggests profits from the Partnerships segment will be sustainably higher moving forward.
