IperionX Ltd's stock surged 5.11% during Tuesday's intraday trading session following the release of positive independent test results from the U.S. Army.
The company reported that its Ti-6Al-4V titanium fasteners exceeded SAE Grade 8 steel torque-to-yield performance in tests conducted by the U.S. Army DEVCOM GVSC. Specifically, 3/4-10 x 3.0-inch titanium fasteners reached 563-615 ft-lbf yield torque compared to about 480-502 ft-lbf for Grade 8 steel. Additionally, 3/8-16 x 1.0-inch tests showed average yield torque above Grade 8 steel, with three of five samples not yielding at the Army limit.
These results support IperionX's domestic titanium powder-to-product manufacturing platform for defense and aerospace supply chains, targeting weight reduction and corrosion resistance improvements. The positive test outcomes could potentially lead to increased adoption of IperionX's titanium products in military applications.
