On 6 May 2026, Suzhou Ribo Life Science Co., Ltd. (Ribo Life Science) announced the attainment of the third key milestone in its research collaboration with Germany-based Boehringer Ingelheim. The partnership, initiated to discover small-interfering RNA (siRNA) therapies for liver diseases, is focused on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH)—a progressive form of fatty-liver disease that threatens more than 200 million patients worldwide with risks of fibrosis, cirrhosis, liver failure and liver cancer.
The milestone underscores the commercial potential of Ribo Life Science’s siRNA platform and further strengthens its standing as a preferred research partner for multinational pharmaceutical companies. While specific scientific details and financial terms were not disclosed, the company highlighted that the programme remains in the pre-clinical phase. Consequently, there is no certainty the collaboration will culminate in a marketable therapy.
Ribo Life Science’s board reiterated the need for shareholder and investor caution when dealing in the company’s securities, given the inherent uncertainties of early-stage drug development.
