Residents of Huangshi, Hubei, have discovered a new, convenient option for traveling to Wuhan Tianhe International Airport. They can now board a direct bus at the Tuanchengshan or Tianhong city terminal buildings, which takes them straight to the airport departure hall without any transfers or luggage worries.
This service is made possible by the "Air-Bus Intermodal" express line, officially launched on July 23, connecting Huangshi and Wuhan Tianhe Airport. The route is a collaboration between China Eastern Airlines and Huangshi Hualong Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. Passengers flying into or out of Wuhan on China Eastern Airlines or Shanghai Airlines can apply for a free bus ticket.
The previously troublesome journey, often involving a tiring drive or tedious transfers, has been replaced by a seamless "one-ticket, direct-to-destination" experience. The Huangshi Water and Land Transportation Development Center has actively coordinated with Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and various airlines, guiding Huangshi Hualong Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. to expand into new services like city terminal buildings and customized airport shuttles.
By optimizing routes, adding convenient stops, and flexibly allocating capacity, the service has achieved a deep integration of road passenger transport with aviation hub resources. This provides traditional passenger transport with a stable new revenue source in the intermodal market.
The "Air-Bus Intermodal" express line features two main stations at Tuanchengshan and Tianhong, with schedules covering all day's flights. It also has 16 convenient stops along major arterial roads. Huangshi Hualong Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. has also arranged connecting minibuses within the city, allowing passengers to board at a nearby stop and travel directly to the airport departure hall, effectively extending travel services from the doorstep to the aircraft cabin.
