A production and supply agreement has been established between Piramal Pharma Solutions and commercial-stage dermatology company Botanix SB Inc. Under this agreement, PPS will initiate development and validation services for the Sofdra active pharmaceutical ingredient, Sofpironium Bromide, at its facility in Riverview, Michigan, USA.

Following regulatory approval at the Riverview site, the parties will consider conducting process validation at PPS's facility in Aurora, Canada. This potential dual-site strategy would enable Botanix to utilize PPS as a dual-source commercial API supplier, enhancing supply chain flexibility and security. This approach is expected to significantly mitigate Sofdra's supply chain risks and substantially reduce the cost of goods.

PPS is a globally leading contract development and manufacturing organization and part of Piramal Pharma Ltd. Botanix is a commercial-stage company focused on dermatology, with its lead product, Sofdra, being the first new chemical entity approved by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of primary axillary hyperhidrosis.

Peter DeYoung, CEO of PPS, stated that this collaboration demonstrates their capability to provide tailored and resilient solutions. Leveraging its API manufacturing facilities in North America, PPS aims to ensure the stable and efficient global delivery of this breakthrough therapy, Sofdra, to patients.
