BASICSEMI Surges Over 4% Intraday on Strategic Cooperation Agreement with HEM Technology

BASICSEMI (09971) saw its stock price surge over 4% during trading. As of the time of writing, the shares had risen 2.51% to HK$53.15, with a trading volume of HK$2.7718 million.

On August 4, 2026, BASICSEMI announced that it has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with HEM Technology Co., Ltd. (HEM Technology), a company incorporated in Taiwan and listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (stock code: 3707.TW).

The Board of Directors of BASICSEMI believes that this strategic partnership will provide the company with advanced and sufficient 8-inch silicon carbide wafer manufacturing capabilities in the coming years. This is expected to enable significant breakthroughs for both partners in market development and technology iteration.

Under this strategic cooperation, the two parties will accelerate the development and mass production of 8-inch silicon carbide wafers, building on their long-standing collaboration. Leveraging BASICSEMI's advanced product technology and market advantages, combined with HEM Technology's high-quality, large-scale wafer manufacturing capabilities, they will jointly advance the development and mass production of new process platforms. This will enhance the market share of silicon carbide products in key sectors such as new energy vehicles and AI data centers.

Additionally, the two parties will conduct research on core processes and application technologies for new compound semiconductors in frontier application fields.
