HKD Interbank Rates Diverge as One-Month HIBOR Falls for Fifth Straight Day to 2.90%

On October 6, Hong Kong dollar interbank rates showed mixed movements, with the one-month HIBOR, which is linked to mortgage loans, quoted at 2.90000%, down 4.220 basis points, marking its fifth consecutive day of declines.

The three-month HIBOR, which reflects banks' funding costs, rose 2.268 basis points to 3.29143%.

The overnight rate fell 37.167 basis points to 2.35226%, while the one-week HIBOR dropped 13.131 basis points to 2.62607%, and the two-week rate declined 5.762 basis points to 2.71964%.

Among longer-tenor rates, the six-month HIBOR was unchanged at 3.52964%, while the one-year rate edged up 0.072 basis points to 4.01423%.
