Recent developments reveal that the second Sam's Club store in Xiamen, and the first in the Xiang'an district, has officially secured its location at the Eastern Sports and Exhibition New City. With a total investment of 453 million yuan, construction is slated to begin in March 2027, with completion anticipated by September 2028.
This strategic move represents a key step in Sam's Club's cross-island expansion blueprint for Xiamen, significantly strengthening the high-end commercial infrastructure of the Eastern Sports and Exhibition area. Industry statistics indicate that in 2026, the membership warehouse chain has already launched four new locations, with six more preparing for opening, ten newly signed projects, and eight currently under construction.
Beyond the expansion of Sam's Club, its parent company Wal-Mart is intensifying efforts on next-generation hypermarkets and community stores. Among the new locations initiating recruitment in August are Wal-Mart's Chengdu Wenjiang store, Nanning ASEAN store, Futian KK ONE store, Liuzhou store, Shunyi store, and three new Beijing locations in Tiantongyuan, Tongcheng Street, and Chaoyang.
